In 2023, Team Wanzek achieved significant milestones through collaboration across our offices and project sites, contributing to industry advancements and fostering community engagement. These ranged from solidifying our position as an industry leader to hosting national events and trade shows to coordinating Earth Day clean-ups and more. We take pride in all our collective efforts and accomplishments this year.

Charitable Events

To name just a few philanthropic efforts, Wanzek celebrated our 20th year with the United Way, donating $78,000 to their cause that supports families in need. One of our Earth Day cleanups that took place at Weston Lakes in Texas underscored our dedication to the environment and local communities. We further demonstrated community well-being by donating $1,200 to The DONNA Foundation for Breast Cancer awareness, providing toys for Palatka, FL families through Feed the Need of Putnam and contributing $2,500 worth of food to the Good Shepherd Food Pantry in Wynne, AR.

One of our favorite events of the year is our annual charity golf tournament. Each year, we host clients and vendors for a day of fundraising, camaraderie and 18 holes of golf. This year, our efforts raised more than $45,000 to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Other charitable initiatives extended to Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels Drive where we raised more than $3,700, supporting individuals in need of meals, entertainment and transportation. Additionally, we organized toy drives, food drives and auctions for various causes such as women’s shelters, schools and youth activists. Throughout the holiday season, a few of our Thanksgiving efforts included donations to Landon’s Hope Foundation in Sebree, KY and the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry in Altoona, PA—organizations dedicated to providing families in need with essential items. This year, we contributed the necessities for a hearty holiday meal, including turkeys, hams, canned goods and additional requested items. To conclude the year, Wanzek hosted several toy drives in partnership with organizations such as the Winslow, AZ Police Department, Wynne, AR Chamber of Commerce, The Heart of Putnam in Palakta, FL and other various organizations.

Industry Recognition

In 2023, Wanzek excelled in innovation and industry recognition. Projects were commemorated for impressive statistics, including hours worked without reportable injuries, days without time-lost injuries and completed megawatts. Most notably, Wanzek played a key role in MasTec securing top rankings in the ENR Top Contractors Sourcebook. This solidified our position in the MasTec Renewables team, helping rank #1 overall in power contracting, #1 in wind energy and #2 in solar energy, contributing to MasTec earning the #3 spot on the ENR Top 400 list.

As we reflect on a year of celebration and achievement, we eagerly anticipate continued success in the new year!
