Arizona 1 is a 32.8 MWac/38.22 MWdc solar power plant located 2 miles west of the town of Salome in La Paz County, Arizona, and 80 miles west of Phoenix. AZ1 was the first solar project done in La Paz County, Arizona. The electrical output goes to Central Arizona Water Conservation District, the largest user of electricity in the state. It is their first renewable energy project.

The project uses the new “First Solar” series 6 panels and is the first project to use the TMEiC Ninja Inverters. All the grading, road construction, pile installation, erection of the single-axis tracker system, module installation and electrical work on the approximately 477-acre site was performed by Wanzek.
