The Bay Trail Project is a solar power plant that sits on 335 acres of land in Citrus County, Florida. The energy produced will be owned and managed by the client, who is one of the largest producers of electricity in the state and the country. The project is utilizing over 198,000 modules on 1,909 rows of racking systems. This solar plant is connected to the substation which is approximately 1.77 miles south via underground medium voltage cables. In addition, this solar plant is connected to the client’s cycle plant switchyard which will combine the power produced from both plants.
The Bay Trail team overcame many obstacles during the construction which included inclement weather changes, supply chain delays, and a heavy storm event near the start of commissioning.
