The Aurora/Brule Wind Farm is comprised of two separate wind farms. Aurora/Brule was designed by Westwood Engineering in collaboration with Wanzek Construction and was unique in the fact that it was developed as two separate wind farms only seven miles apart. This was Wanzek’s first project where we were contracted to coordinate trucking of turbine components from Garden City, Kansas to the project site; this SOW is typically handled by the turbine supplier and owners. Aurora/Brule consists of 18 GE 2.3 turbines that span 3,310 acres of pasture and farmland and deliver 41 MW of electricity. The project was completed on time and to the satisfaction of the client and all participating landowners.
