The Coyote Ridge Wind Farm experienced one of the wettest winters/springs on record in South Dakota, all while safely constructing the project for a satisfied client. This project is nestled in Brookings County and consists of 39 GE turbines. This project has construction activities spread across 23 square miles of rolling hills and farmland. Coyote Ridge will deliver 97 MW of energy to the long-term off taker, Google Energy.

Project Scope:

  • Engineered civil, foundations, overhead collection, underground collection, transmission line, substation and O&M building
  • Installed 11.6 miles of cement-stabilized access road
  • Foundation excavation and backfill
  • Wind turbine foundation rebar and concrete install
  • Grading for substation, O&M and turbine delivery pads
  • Installed 18.7 miles of underground collection cable, 7.8 miles of overhead collection line and a two‑pole, 953-foot transmission line
  • Constructed the 34.5 kV collector substation
  • Completed a 5,460 SF pre-engineered metal O&M building
  • Installed one meteorological tower
  • Offload of wind turbines, tower erection and tower wiring
