El Cabo Wind was a unique project with a repeat client near the town of Encino, New Mexico. This project consists of 142 Gamesa 80-meter tall, 2.1 MW turbines for a total of 298.2 MW. El Cabo is located on very rocky terrain and sits at a 6,100-foot elevation, which made the turbine installation a challenge for our employees. Even with its obstacles, the Wanzek team completed El Cabo on time and under budget.
Project Scope:
- CSA for the installation of roads, foundations, turbine installation, tower wiring and mechanical completion
- Construction of an O&M building
- Meteorological tower installation
