The El Sauz Wind Project is located in Willacy County, Texas on the El Sauz Ranch, formerly part of the King Ranch. The El Sauz Ranch is also home to farming, cattle and a guided hunting and fishing resort. The project consisted of one landowner and two clients. Wanzek was the EPC contractor and Nordex was the turbine supplier. El Sauz is a 302 MW wind project consisting of 67 Nordex N155-4.5 MW 108-meter hub height turbines. This was Wanzek’s first N155 project and first project with the clients. At peak construction, the site consisted of 250–300 employees.
