The Twin Buttes II wind project was completed utilizing over 88,300 labor hours and is located in the southeastern portion of Colorado. This project was developed, owned and operated by Avangrid Renewables. Twin Buttes II is a 75-megawatt wind energy project using a quantity of 36 Gamesa turbines beginning with 30 Gamesa 2.1 MW wind turbines with a 114-meter rotor diameter and a 80-meter hub height. Additionally, the project has 6 Gamesa 2.0 MW wind turbines with a 114-meter rotor diameter and a 80-meter hub height. Twin Buttes II will produce enough power for about 30,000 homes over a year’s time; lighting up homes and businesses around Colorado.

Project Scope:

  • Access roads, crane paths, turbine pad construction, reclaim, seeding
  • Foundation excavation, crane pads, backfill
  • Wind turbine foundation concrete installation, offload, install and wiring
  • 3,960 SF pre-engineered metal storage building with SCADA room for client O&M
  • One meteorological tow
