The Twin Buttes II Wind Project was completed utilizing over 88,300 labor hours and is located in the southeastern portion of Colorado. Twin Buttes II is a 75-megawatt wind energy project using a quantity of 36 Gamesa turbines beginning with 30 Gamesa 2.1 MW wind turbines with a 114-meter rotor diameter and an 80-meter hub height. Additionally, the project has 6 Gamesa 2.0 MW wind turbines with a 114-meter rotor diameter and an 80-meter hub height. Twin Buttes II will produce enough power for about 30,000 homes over a year’s time; lighting up homes and businesses around Colorado.

Project Scope:

  • Access roads, crane paths, turbine pad construction, reclaim, seeding
  • Foundation excavation, crane pads, backfill
  • Wind turbine foundation concrete installation, offload, install and wiring
  • 3,960 SF pre-engineered metal storage building with SCADA room for client O&M
  • Meteorological tower
