Panhandle Wind Ranch - 78.2MW

Wanzek's wind energy construction crews went to work in October 2010 on the 78.2MW Panhandle Wind Ranch, a project for Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, Inc. The project is well on its way to completion, currently undergoing collection system and substation construction, as well as turbine erection. Wanzek's scope of work also includes sitework and roads, foundations, electrical and an O&M building construction. The project is scheduled for completion later this year. Power from the wind ranch will serve the local region through rural, customer-owned co-ops from southwestern Kansas to the Edwards Plateau in Texas, according to a news release.
